Mission Report: VOSH-Santa Cruz to Peru 2016

(This report was emailed to Executive Director, Natalie Venezia, following VOSH-Santa Cruz’s mission to Peru in August 2016.) Hello Natalie, Just returned from our mission to Peru. We were able to receive 2,761 patients during the clinic. We were 44 on the team. It was a clinic where we received a lot of children, and I have a number of glasses to make since it seems all the children had minus 4 – minus 6 cyls!! It was the second time we used our new Spot Vision check, and it was quite impressive. We have managed to use it with a portable WIFI, which enables us to print all the info on a self-adhesive label. We are going to do screening in the schools and then give them a coupon that will enable them to receive a free eye exam, which is paid for by the government for children. Then the foundation will pay for the glasses. By the way, I am overstocked in new frames, plus I have a quantity of analyzed single vision minus glasses (men’s and women’s), as well as women’s positive and negative bifocals. They are all labelled. P.S. A filming crew came to Peru to film for two days and will do another two days of filming at our warehouse Sep 17-18. They...
