Puerto Rico suffered the most devastating hurricane since 1928. Just two weeks after Hurricane Irma passed through the Island, Hurricane Maria left a path of destruction to electrical, telecommunication and water distribution system. Students at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry were forced to leave the Island twice, just after Irma and after Maria. Besides their high unexpected travel expenditures, as they return to classes they still have significant living expenses while the situation stabilizes on the Island. We ask for the generosity of all optometrists and friends to help students achieve their academic goals. As our future colleagues they will appreciate the support of our community.
